Ashfaq Ahmed (Urdu: اشفاق احمد‎; 22 August 1925 – 7 September 2004) was a writer, playwright and broadcaster from Pakistan. He authored several books in Urdu. His works included novels, short stories and plays for television and radio. He was awarded President's Pride of Performance and Sitara-i-Imtiazfor meritorious services in the field of literature and broadcasting.Ahmed, in his later years of life, was greatly inclined towards Sufism. His close association with Qudrat Ullah Shahab and Mumtaz Mufti was also attributed to this tendency. He used to appear in a get together with his fans in PTV program Baittakh (The Guest Room) and Zaviya (The Dimension) where he gave swift but satisfying responses to each and every question posed by the youth audience.

Kaleesa Aur Aag (English: The Church and Fire) (Urdu: کلیسا اور آگ) is a fabulous and beautifulUrdu historic novel written by Sharīf Husain (Urdu: شریف حسین)-who used the pseudonym-Naseem Hijazi(Urdu: نسیم حجازی) the well known and legendary Urdu historicnovel writer, who is better known forhis novels, like Muhammad Bin Qasim(Urdu: محمد بن قاسم), Dastaan-E-Mujahid (Urdu: داستانِ مجاھد),Andheri Raat Ke Musafir (Urdu:اندھیری رات کے مسافر) and Shaheen (Urdu: شاھین), based on the History that shows both the rise and fall of Muslim Empires.
This novel is about the fall of Muslim Spain and aftershocks of that defeat. Naseem Hejazi-in this novel- has painfully, yet truthfully, depicted the infamous Spanish Inquisition that began by targeting the Spanish Jews and ended also with the conversion or expulsion of the Moriscos or crypto-Muslims outwardly converted to Christianity

Gumshuda Qaafley ("The Lost Caravans")

             Sharīf Husain (Urdu: شریف حسین), who used the pseudonym Nasīm Hijāzī (Urdu: نسیم حجازی, commonly transliterated asNaseem Hijazi, or Nasim Hijazi) (c. 1914- March 1996) was an Urdu writer. He was born at the village of Sujaanpur near town Dhariwal, district Gurdaspur, Punjab, before the independence of Pakistan and settled in Lahore in 1947. He lived most of his life in Pakistan and died in March 1996.
