Insan Aur Devta (English: Human and the Deity) (Urdu: انسان اور دیوتا) is a fabulous and beautifulUrdu novel written by Sharīf Husain (Urdu: شریف حسین)-who used the pseudonym-Naseem Hijazi(Urdu: نسیم حجازی) the well known and legendaryUrdu historic novel writer, who is better known forhis novels, like Muhammad Bin Qasim (Urdu: محمد بن قاسم), Dastaan-E-Mujahid (Urdu: داستانِ مجاھد),Andheri Raat Ke Musafir (Urdu: اندھیری رات کے مسافر) and Shaheen (Urdu: شاھین), based on theHistory that shows both the rise and fall of Muslim Empires.

This novel is about the brutal cast system of Hindu religion that snatches all rights of Hindus that belong to a low cast and makes their life miserable and worst then death. Naseem Hijzai successfully described-in this novel- this social evil and its impacts on the society and human rights.

Naseem Hijazi wrote this novel one he saw the same situation in Pakistan when Skandar Mira, the great rand son of Meer Jafar, became the first President of Pakistan. At that timeHijazi thought that Pakistan has become like that white island.
